Browning Hi-Power Disassembly

MacTeutates has some excellent videos on the matter

I did some more Bubba Gunsmithing last night.

I changed the trigger to a Cylinder and Slide Wide Combat trigger. It's a little bit wider than the stock trigger and does away with the magazine disconnect.

I also swapped the hammer spring to a lighter 26 lb spring, which lightened the trigger pull a lot. Swapping the spring was really not fun. I hope I don't get any light strikes because I really don't want to ever change that spring again.

Also replaced the firing pin spring and moved to a heaver 18.5 lb recoil spring.

Overall things went pretty well. It looks like the sear/hammer engagement has changed slightly or the heavier hammer spring was masking the fact that there is a slight catch when the sear is fully depressed. I will just live with it for a while as it's not self defense gun (yet), and I am going to have a gunsmith install a new sear and hammer fairly soon anyway. Also, the catch is slight enough that you have to intentionally cause it to happen.
